A Taste of Lucca Back Bay

Last week, Where to Eat continued to celebrate its 10 year anniversary at Lucca Back Bay. Chef Anthony Mazzotta put together a fabulous menu featuring some of their specialties for "A Taste of Lucca Back bay"

The evening began with a Bacardi pre-dinner cocktail hour, featuring the Prickly Pear, the Where to Eat 10th Anniversary Cocktail, GREY GOOSE LA POIRE, pear juice, liquor 43, prosecco and a dash of cayenne. This inventive drink served as the perfect stepping stone for the rest of the meal.

The meal began with three antipasti- Ostriche, Insalata alla Romana and Zuppa, my favorite being the Ostriche, Island Creek oysters marinated with bacon, lemon and truffle oil.

For the Entratta Lucca served a life-changing Rigatoni Bolognese, Cappesante and Meyer Farm Hanger Steak.

The dolci course was phenomenal; pound cake, orange mochaccino and apple crisp. I’ll admit, I am a self-confessed chocolate hater, so I’ll take this opportunity to rave about the pound cake, which was absolutely fantastic. It was served with a passion fruit panna cotta, coconut crumble and a butterscotch pudding sauce. I should mention though, the Orange Mochaccino is all that this office has been talking about, as well as the bloggers! So the next time you visit Lucca, try them both, let us know which one you love, because it’s guaranteed to be one of them!
